    Managing Director of Accountable List Brokers (ALB), President of Southport Chamber of Commerce and Founder of Prevent Youth Suicide.

    Laird established ALB, a National Mailing List Company, over 29 years ago and since that time, has been associated with many Not For Profit Businesses in Honorary Roles, previously Chair of the Aust. Direct Marketing Association QLD, Board member of the Fundraising Assoc. QLD and President of the Milton Chamber of Commerce.

    As a previous Adjunct Fellow at Bond University lecturing in Direct Marketing, Laird understands the importance of making the Gold Coast a Hub for Education and Health, apart from existing Tourism and Construction.

    A regular member for 8 years prior, Laird accepted the Position of President and with many new Board Members, made changes to reverse the losses and return the Chamber to a profitable, Key Influencer in the Business Community. Establishing a stand-alone office and attracting 14 Key Board members has allowed the Chamber to be instrumental in establishing Southport as the CBD.

     Now as the President for 6 years, Laird has always worked with all sides of the Political Spectrum to bring about positive change and ensure the Bureaucrats that make decisions that affect us are aware of the Impact on Businesses and Residents alike.

    A qualified civil engineer and principal of Grummitt Planning, head of a town planning consultancy which has operated in Southport since its inception in 1996. Noel is involved in many of the regions notable developments and acted as the Chambers observer at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games after which he has been able to advise on benefits and advantages to be gained by the GC.  Noel loves Southport and its people and is excited about its future.

    Michael graduated from Rhodes University with a B.Com.  He commenced his recruitment career in 1997. After relocating to Australia in March 2000, Michael spent the next 3 years working for an international specialist recruiter, working in their Brisbane office for 12 months before establishing their first Gold Coast Office in Southport in Feb 2001.  In August 2003, Michael founded Trend Personnel and continues to supply staff to many well-known businesses on the Gold Coast.  Since 2010, Michael has also been Chairman and Treasurer of Trilogy Body Corporate Committee (Budds Beach).  Michael is passionate about the Gold Coast, particularly with regards to local job creation.  Having worked in Southport for the past 15 years, he has a soft spot for this area and is keen to see it thrive.

    Ian is Managing Partner of McLaughlins Lawyers, a firm which has been providing legal services from the Gold Coast since 1958, the last 28 years from Southport.

    Ian was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in New Zealand in 1987, later practiced and was admitted in England and Wales before returning to practice in New Zealand.  

    Ian has been with McLaughlins since 2001, is married with two children, and has lived with his family in the Ecovillage at Currumbin since its inception in 2006.

    Ian chairs the Southport Community Consultative Committee quarterly meetings and has a passion for the growth of Southport as the CBD.

    Bachelor of Business Graduate and now Master of Marketing student, Fabio is very passionate about what he does and continually strives to develop his knowledge and skills.

    He is proud to be the Marketing Manager for Quill Group, managing a portfolio of 5 brands - Quill Accounting, Quill Financial Planning, Superfund Wholesale, Superfund Partners and Superstash. Prior to this, Fabio was the Marketing Coordinator for Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific executing key lead generation campaigns and implementing valuable Marketing projects. At Wyndham, Fabio was an integral member of the Wishes by Wyndham charity arm raising funds for various charities such as Cancer Council Queensland and the Animal Welfare League. He was also the Vice President of Education for the Wyndham Toastmasters club facilitating and nurturing the development of members. 

    Through his role in the above committees, Fabio gained a wealth of experience in organising events, people management, and project management.

    Fabio is a creative at heart and business enthusiast at mind. He has a forward thinking mindset and is a big advocate for fostering change through social movements. Fabio loves helping people create memorable brand experiences and is always up for any challenge pushed his way.

    Lydia Wee is the Co-Founder and Director of Business Development at Helios Media Design Pty Ltd (Australia & Singapore).  

    Deeply passionate about business and technology, Lydia believes that the best approach to effective business growth is a combination of strategic thinking and technology-adoption that are aligned synergistically with targeted business goals.

    Helios Media Design is a Biz-Tech Agency providing consultancy, development and integration of IT products with a strong focus on marketing. Clients have included FedEx, Pentair Ltd, CWT Ltd, Microsoft Singapore, Singtel and Singapore Discovery Centre to name a few.

    Susie is highly qualified educational professional with over 25 years business/hospitality managerial experience and over 16 years teaching experience.  She holds a Masters of Educational Studies, a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary Teaching), a Bachelor of Business (1A Hons) and several VET certifications.

    She has held various positions in the education sector up to including Director of Studies, Human Resources and Compliance for a local RTO but is currently pursuing other business and political interests closer to her heart. She was formerly a Lecturer and Head Tutor in the Business School at Griffith University in addition to serving as a Campaign Manager at the university raising money for scientific research, most specifically for The Institute for Glycomics which has a yearly memorial lecture in her late father's name - The Peter Gallagher Memorial Lecture. 

    She was raised in Southport attending kindergarten, primary school, high school and university in the CBD. “SusieSouthport” is a true local. She lived above the Cecil Hotel which her family operated for 13 years.  Her family then went to develop a range of other businesses around the Gold Coast.   She is living, working and raising a family here so she has a very personal, deeply vested interest in seeing our part of the world prosper and grow in a way that is sustainable well beyond the short term.
