Draft Central Southport Masterplan

In June 2009 the Gold Coast City Council released the Draft Central Southport Masterplan document was released for public comment. This document outlines the councils vision for the growth and development of  Southport toward 2031. The strategies proposed will shape way people do business and live within the  Central Southport area.

Transport and planning strategies take into account the Rapid Transit System that has recently been green lighted by all levels of government. Strategies also include the raising of height and density limits within the central business area of the town. Streetscaping has been explored with proposals to create a series of boulevard upgrades to the arterial roads of Southport.
