Southport Business Survey

Long recognised as the business centre for the Gold Coast, Southport is soon to be energised by the most comprehensive survey of businesses ever undertaken in the region.

Called the Southport Business Community Profile Project (SBCPP), this ground breaking research is an initiative of the Southport Chamber of Commerce (SCOC) and supported by the Gold Coast City Council.

The project will provide business owners in the Southport area with very real intelligence about their businesses and ways they can link to each other for their mutual benefit. Project Leader Greg Tomkins, a member of the Chamber’s Executive Committee, believes that the sheer scope and comprehensive nature of the project will help local businesses reach their full potential, and with the information gathered, brand Southport as the premium place to conduct business on the Gold Coast.

The project has four distinct phases and will use the latest data gathering techniques to ensure the validity of the business intelligence collected.

Phase 1:
Southport businesses will be listed through various avenues including responses to emails and a dedicated website. The website will be designed to make the survey process quick and easy for the respondents.

Phase 2:
Working from their new Australian Head Office in Southport, internationally renowned market research company Tebbutt Research have been commissioned to sample the opinions and needs of Southport business owners.

Phase 3:
Southport Chamber of Commerce will take advantage of the information gathered by the market research to build the profile and membership of the chamber.

Phase 4:
Southport Chamber of Commerce will release exclusive information to stakeholders - helping to cement Southport as the place to do business on the Gold Coast.

Chamber President Laird Marshall said ‘It is fitting the Coast’s oldest Chamber of Commerce be associated with the newest attempt to do business better for the sake of all our members and the local business community’.

In conjunction with other stakeholders, the unique outcomes of this project will allow a number of initiatives to be offered to businesses for developing wider commercial ties and up-skilling management through targeted professional development programs.

All Southport business owners, or anyone interested in gaining a competitive edge on the Gold Coast, are encouraged to actively participate. more information can be found on our dedicated website http://southport-business-survey.com.au/.
