Central Chamber of Commerce seeks to merge with other Chambers

Jason Deacon said "As a valued supporter of local business I would like to advise you about an exciting initiative that is being discussed between us and two other Gold Coast Chambers of Commerce.

The Central Chamber, Surfers Paradise-Broadbeach Chamber and Nerang Chamber of Commerce have formed a steering committee to explore the benefits members would enjoy in joining the three organisations under the one administration."

The Southport Chamber of Commerce was also approached but our Board of Management rejected any notion of merging with the the Central Chamber of Commerce. Whilst the Board recognises that efficiencies in the operation and administration of the Chambers on the Gold Coast is a good idea, it felt that the proposal put was not the best option overall.

The Southport Chamber's Board of Management are continuing to discuss this matter and what it means.
